I first started reading historical romances in the early 90s. Here are some of my favorites that addicted me to the genre:
Mary Jo Putney’s Fallen Angels series particularly Thunder and Roses
Jane Feather’s V series, particularly Velvet
Untamed by Elizabeth Lowell
The Ruby by Christina Skye
Reckless by Amanda Quick

What books turned you into romance readers? What are your current favorite?

Romance reader, yes, even for a guy it’s fun reading. I’ve read many by different authors. Favorites, all of them as they have different styles and themes. Most are well written, both long and short reads are good depending on my time constraints. The last one I read was by Jodi Olson’s Raining on Sunday. It was a believable read, down to earth and funny. I like the books with some comedy. I’m still reading but I am a Sci-Fi nut and like Marteeka Karlands’s books. I’m a reader in process, that is, reading all kinds.

I got hooked on Georgette Heyer and Barbara Cartland historicals, way back when they were new, lol, and really enjoy Stephanie Lauren’s regency titles. I have been on a paranormal romance kick lately, with some of my favorites by Kim Harrison, LKH, Kate Douglas, Kelley Armstrong, Charlaine Harris, Christine Feehan and Vicki Pettersson on my keeper shelf. And that’s just my paperback list, I have tons more of ebook author’s that I read over and over.

I can’t remember who was first it’s been so long. Elizabeth Lowell and Diane Palmer were auto buys from their first books until recently. Now its Stephanie Laurens, Christine Feehan, and Hannah Howell, etc. Yes some is paranormal but it’s still romance.
