Hoofin’ it to the Altar now at Amazon, ARe, and BN.

Nov 16, 2012 Filed under: book release, erotica, m/m, men in uniform, paranormal, shapeshifter, vampire

Hoofin’ it to the Altar, my most recent contribution to the multi-author Protect and Serve series, is now at Amazon and ARe and Barnes and Noble.

Blurb

Deer shifter Jason Fleetfoot and vampire detective Drew Danvers have been together for a year. When Drew proposes, Jason is thrilled but shocked. Vampires aren’t usually the marrying kind, even the few who side with the good guys. Drew wants to elope, but Jason’s sister, Natalie, insists on planning an elaborate ceremony.

As Jason and Drew fend off well-meaning friends and family, a far more serious problem threatens their union. A vampire killer is on the loose. He subdues his undead victims without a struggle and finishes them off by literally curdling their blood. Drew has no idea what could kill a vampire so easily, and everyone suspects he’s next on the killer’s list. Can he stop the killer in time for “Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today…” to start his wedding instead of his funeral?

Reviews for Hoofin’ It to the Altar

“Ms. Violet has the knack for infusing lots of witty humor into the dialogue between the characters. They click as friends and even better as lovers. The storyline was interesting and very sexy. This author knows how to write some hot sex scenes.”

“I absolutely adore Silvia Violet’s Protect and Serve stories in this multi-author series. She infuses her stories with some humor, lots of lovin’ and amazing characters. The writing is tight, story moves along at a nice pace and there were a few twists that had me flipping the pages quickly to see what would happen next.”

Excerpt:

I’m Jason Fleetfoot, deer shifter and crime lab tech. I might look like a badass, but lately, I’m embarrassingly domesticated. I’m living like an old married man with a vampire. That’s right, a vampire. Me and my man have settled down into a predictable routine just like upstanding normal folks. A few months ago, I moved in with him and volunteered to keep working the night shift at the crime lab while he’s out chasing down bad guys. He’s a big, bad detective. Yeah, a vamp who works for the good guys. We come home from work, have dinner, well, I do. He has me for dinner. Then we watch a little TV and tuck in for the night or, rather, day.

What about the sex? Don’t look shocked, I know you’re interested. The sex is anything but predictable. Drew is hotter than a solar flare. We’re both stronger and faster than humans and willing to try almost anything. I’ll just say we’ve damn near brought the building down a few times and leave it at that.

I can barely believe we’ve been together for a whole year. Before I met Drew, if I fucked the same guy for a week, I started to get antsy, but now I’m in love. Yeah, I admit it. This badass stag shifter is all mushy-gushy, I-don’t-ever-want-to-leave-you in love. And love makes you dumb. Dumb enough to think a vampire would care about celebrating our anniversary.

I made us reservations and kept them a secret until today. I surprised Drew with the plans when he woke up early this evening, and he seemed happy, if a little distracted. I thought he was into my idea even though we rarely go out unless we stop by Shift for a beer on our night off. Drew doesn’t eat, but he likes to watch me when I order something special. I love to eat, and sometimes I really get into my food. Drew says I look like I’m about to come from the deliciousness, and he likes that, a lot.

So I got all dressed up, well, all dressed up for me, which means a collared shirt and a coat with my jeans, and planned to have a nice, civilized evening. But Drew went to do some errands after he got up, and now he’s a half hour late meeting me at the restaurant, and he’s not answering his phone.

Now, my anger turns to fear as I think how unlike him it is to be late. He just closed a case involving a werewolf pack that was kidnapping young women. Supposedly, the guilty parties were in jail, but what if they’ve found a way to get retribution? And they are far from the only people who’d like to see Drew permanently dead. Thanks to the news coverage of his kidnapping and forced Change at the hands of a vampire crime boss and the city’s unlikely decision to let him keep his job with the police force, Drew is fairly well known. There are plenty of people out there, human and vampire, who don’t like the idea of his kind fighting crime.

I grab my phone to call Drew again, but as I do, he walks through the door. He looks amazing. He’s wearing gray dress pants and a pale blue shirt that strains against his broad shoulders. He even has on a tie, blood red, of course. He must have bought the outfit while he was out, because I’ve never seen any of those clothes in his closet. He smiles at the hostess, the smile that gets most female witnesses to tell him anything he needs to hear. It used to make me jealous when he looked at others like that, but now I just smile and think how lucky I am to have him all to myself.

He catches sight of me, and his smile widens. My heart pounds. Even after a year, I still get excited when he looks at me like that. I’m so relieved he’s not decapitated in an alley somewhere that I can’t stay angry about his tardiness. He’s too damn charming in his suave clothes.

When the hostess walks away, Drew’s hot gaze pins me in place. “I’m sorry I’m so late,” he says.

“You didn’t answer your phone.” Shit! I sound like a nagging wife.

“First time you called I was paying for something. Then I rushed home to change. I thought it would be better to get here as fast as I could rather than wasting time calling you.”

Logical, but annoying. “I was worried.”

Drew frowns. “Why?”

“Um, you’re a detective, remember? You chase bad guys who’d be happy to see you dead, and you just put some savage pieces of shit in jail.”

“Oh yeah.” He looks thoughtful.

“What’s wrong? Did something happen tonight?”

He shakes his head. “No, I’m just distracted.”

“Did Seth call? Did you get a new case?” Seth is Drew’s lieutenant and also a good friend.

“No. I’m fine, really.”

Our server approaches the table. Drew looks relieved that I can’t question him any more.

We place our drink orders, and I try to engage Drew in conversation, but he’s doing his cold, distant vamp routine, and it’s pissing me off. “If you didn’t want to go out, why the fuck didn’t you say so?”

The server times his reappearance perfectly to save Drew again. I wonder if he heard me, but I’m too angry, and I don’t care about making a spectacle. Why was Drew acting like he’d rather be anywhere else?

I order, and the server turns to Drew expectantly. Drew gives him a smile that shows fang. His eyes widen, and he steps back. “So that will be all then, gentlemen?” He nearly chokes on the last word.

“Yes, thank you,” I say. I glare at Drew. “What was that for?”

“I don’t want him hovering.”

“You don’t want him flirting.”

He shrugs.

Drew attracts men and women without trying, whether it’s because he’s a vampire or just his natural magnetism. He usually finds several admirers wherever we go, but he’s more likely to scare them away than flirt back.

He smiles at me, and instead of looking disinterested like he did before, he looks turned on. What game is he playing?

Sex on the Hoof tied for Best Paranormal of 2011

Jan 27, 2012 Filed under: D/s, erotica, m/m, men in uniform, paranormal, shapeshifter, vampire

I am so excited to announce that Protect and Serve: Sex on the Hoof tied for Best Paranormal/Fantasy of 2011 at Love Romances Cafe. I am amazed and honored and thankful for everyone who voted for this book. It’s a very special book for me because it’s my first m/m story and Jason is one of my all time favorite characters.

Sex on the Hoof is available here and here and a FREE short story, Sex on the Hoof: Crimes in the Lab, that takes places later is available for here or or for download here.

And now for a sample of Jason and Drew….

I’m Jason Fleetfoot. I’ve made a lot of stupid mistakes in my life. The stupidest of all was taking a job with some assholes intent on manufacturing illegal chemical weapons.

My sister, Natalie, lost her job when her company folded, and I lost mine because my fucking boss was a bastard. I’ve got authority issues. And control issues. Alright, I’m seriously fucked up, but I wasn’t going to let my sister starve because I couldn’t keep it together.

So I made a deal with the devil and damn near got myself and Natalie killed. She saved me, she and her cop boyfriend, Wolf. The name’s not a joke. He’s a werewolf. Did I mention we’re shifters, Natalie and I. Deer shifters. If you think my human form is impressive, you should see me as a ten point buck. So yeah, a werewolf and a deer shifter. Somehow they’re making it work.

As much as I hate being beholden to Wolf, I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for him. Once the cops cleared me, Wolf helped me get a job in the crime lab where I can use my knowledge of chemistry and computers for the good guys.

As the newest hire, I work nights, babysitting the equipment and working on what comes in during the wee hours. For the most part, I like it. It’s quiet and I get a chance to play around with new techniques and do a bit of programming. There’s only one problem, Detective Drew Danvers.

He works nights too. Not because he’s new, because he’s a God-damned vampire. They say he was Changed against his will. But what the hell was he doing picking up a vampire at a bar? I certainly have no intention of fucking a vampire. No matter how damn fuckable Drew is. Yeah, I like men, what of it? And Drew is a fine specimen of a man, like some Viking warrior. He’s at least 6’3” with sculpted arms and pecs that make him look like he could lift a truck one-handed. Considering he’s a vamp, he probably can.

Getting involved with Drew would be stupid on too many levels to count. And I’m finished with making stupid decisions. So why does my body want so desperately to be impaled on him – his cock, his fangs, anything he’d like to stick in me. Natalie’s right, my dick really doesn’t communicate with my brain. I don’t just want to fuck him, I want to be taken by him, and I never want that. Like I said, I have control issues. But with Drew . . . No, there’s never going to be anything with Drew.

I hear the buzz that signals someone entering the lab. I glance around from behind the mass spec machine. Shit! Speak of the devil or in this case his undead minion.

My pride will not let me hide even though I want to. I’m not afraid of him, even if I should be. I’m just afraid my unruly cock will give away my interest.

His gaze slides up and down my body. He’s looked at me like this before. But I have never been sure whether it’s sexual interest or him salivating over me like I’m a piece of the lush chocolate cake my grandma used to make on Sundays. “You alone in here, Fleetfoot?”

Shit, maybe he does mean to make a meal out of me. No point in lying though. He probably already knows the answer. Aren’t vampires supposed to be damn near omnipotent? “Newton called in sick, and everyone else is out in the field.

“Good.” Danvers smiles, still eyeing me like I’m prey. If I was in deer form I’d bolt, white tail flagging danger. But I’m a man and his ice blue gaze has me glued to the spot. God above, he’s gorgeous when he smiles. My cock is starting to get uncomfortable in my jeans.

My heart pounds as I try to interpret his response. Does he mean “good I’m going to give you to the best fuck of your life” or “good I’m going to drain your blood and leave you for dead”.

Sex on the Hoof: Crimes in the Lab by Silvia Violet

“Yeah. I… I’m sure he’s OK.” My heart pounds. If I were in deer form, the fur on my back would be raised. Why the hell hasn’t Drew called?

“I’ll tell him to call you as soon as he checks in.”

Shit. Now the Lieutenant’s going to think I’m a nag. “You don’t have to…”

Morrison sighs. I can tell he’s worried too. “It’s fine. He should’ve checked in by now.”

“Yeah. OK. Thanks.” I end the call, shaking with a combination of anger and fear. No one has heard from Drew for nearly twenty-four hours. Where the fuck is he? Why won’t he answer his phone? It’s been dark for almost an hour now.

I try to concentrate on the tests I’m supposed to run, but I’m useless. I seriously need to grow some antlers and quit worrying about him. But all I can think is my bloodsucker better damn well be OK. And if he is, I’m going to tear him apart.

I smell him before I see him. The crime lab door slides open, and he stalks in looking pissed as hell. He’s not the only one. “Where the fuck were you?” I snap.

He’s breathing hard. He looks like hell. “Caught by the sun. Had to hole up.”

“And you didn’t call because…”

“Dead battery.” He stalks toward me. My deer senses tell me to run. I’m prey, and he’s going to eat me.

His eyes are dark, lust filled. He’s not pissed so much as starving. I’m in trouble. “Drew. I’m working. We’ll have to take care of this later.”

He shakes his head. “Need you.”

Oh shit. I back up, but realize he’s got me trapped. Maybe if I piss him off he’ll leave. “You can’t just come in here like this. You disappeared for a whole day without contacting anyone. I was worried as shit. You’re going to catch it from Morrison, too.”

He doesn’t react. He’s beyond words. I’m going to have to get physical. But as I cock my arm back to punch him, he grabs it and twists it behind my back. His other hand cups the back of my head, slamming me into him. His lips crush mine in a brutal kiss.

I struggle for about a second, and then he does this thing with his tongue where he flicks it across the roof of my mouth. It makes me crazy, and he knows it. He pushes me back against the wall, shoving a cart out of the way. Glassware rattles and breaks. Fuck! We’re in trouble.

He grinds his hips against mine. Our cocks press against each other. He’s already got me so hard I’m ready to beg. I use my free hand to pull his shirt from his pants. I need bare skin.

He lets go of my hand and starts undoing the fastening of my jeans. He’s going to fuck me right here in the lab. Anyone might walk in. A shiver of anticipation runs through me. He might get us fired. I try to remember why that would be bad. Then he licks my neck, taking deep breaths and groaning, and I give up.

I’m so easy. One touch from him and he owns me.

He pulls out my cock and pumps it as he licks my pulse point. What is he waiting for? I want his fangs in me right fucking now.

“Might take too much,” he says as if he hears my thoughts.

“Bite me.” I slide my hands down to his ass, pulling him tight against me.

He sinks his fangs deep. I hiss, a combination of pain and ecstasy beyond anything I’ve felt before taking a vampire lover. I buck my hips, pushing my cock into the circle of his hand. He sucks at my neck.

The pleasure is so intense, I’m close to coming, and he’s only been touching me for a matter of seconds. “Drew. So good. So fucking good,” I babble, not sure what I’m saying.

He works my cock faster. I want to touch him too, but my brain doesn’t work. I can’t make my hands move from where I’m gripping his back, digging into his skin, scratching him.

I start to feel dizzy. The room darkens. Fuck. “Drew. Enough. Enough!”

He licks the wound to make it clot fast and pushes away from me. His eyes are dark, wide. I can smell his hunger. My body quivers. My instincts tell me to run. Danger. Danger.

With a roar, he sweeps everything off the closest table. Glassware crashes to the floor, a bottle of solution pours out, safety glasses and latex gloves fly across the room. I should call for help. He’s out of control. He could hurt me, damage samples, ruin the lab.

My hand circles my cock. Fuck being good. I want the hard, rough ride he’s going to give me. I want to be bad. I want danger.

He turns to me and snarls. For a moment I regret not running. He’s never truly hurt me, but I’ve only seen him this out of control once.

He grabs my by the back of the neck and shoves me down over the table. “Don’t move.”

I grip the edge of the table and obey.

He jerks my pants down. Then he bends down and swipes his tongue across one of my ass cheeks. He pulls my cheeks apart. His teeth scrape my ass. Fuck, is he going to bite me again? But then he tongues my asshole and I don’t care what the fuck he does to me. He works me until I’m good and wet. I grind myself against the edge of the table, not caring that the cold, hard surface hurts. I need any friction I can get on my cock.

Drew pushes my legs apart and laps at my balls. Then he takes a long, slow breath as his lips skim my inner thigh. I can feel my pulse pounding right under his lips. If he bites me there, blood will pour into his mouth. He might kill me. But I don’t have a prayer of escaping.

He pulls away, and I glance over my shoulder. I watch him lick his hand and stoke his cock. He grins at me. “Hold on tight.”

Oh, fuck.

His cock presses for entry. He forces himself forward. The lack of real lube means he has to push hard. I sink my teeth into my lip to keep from crying out. My ass burns, but I want more. I want him to shove in deep. I want every inch of his cock. “Jason.” He groans. “So tight. So good.”

“Yeah.” I gasp, barely able to force air into my lungs.

Drew’s fingers bite into my hips as he drives forward. I gasp, unable to breathe. Then his balls slap my ass.

He holds still for a few seconds, but I’m so damn ready for him to move that when he does I scream as his cock drags over my prostate. “Fuck, yeah.”

He thrusts back in, harder this time. Then we both lose control, He rams into me, and I push back against him meeting every stoke. “Mine. You’re mine.”

“Yeah.” I am his, even if he is a fucking barbarian and a vampire.

He whimpers as he pulls out slowly, teasing me. “Want to taste you again. Want more.”

“Can’t. Dizzy. No more. Just fuck.”

“Yeah. Gonna fuck you so hard. Gonna. Oh shit.” He tenses and drives in hard as his orgasm slams through him. He calls my name as he pumps his come into my ass.

His hand works my cock. One stroke. Two. My balls tighten. Heat bursts at the base of my spine, and I come, pumping jerkily into his hand.

When we can breathe again, he lifts himself off me. I stand and survey the damage. The lab looked like a cyclone hit it. I glance toward the door, listening with my deer senses. No one is close by.

“Here.” Drew tosses me my pants. “No one will bother us. I told Morrison I needed a few minutes. Said I owed you an apology.”

I pull my pants on and frown at the pieces of glass on the floor. “I don’t think this is what he expected.”

Drew looks around at the mess as if seeing it for the first time and shakes his head. “Probably not.”

I grin, despite the dire state of things. We’ll get reprimanded, but it’s worth it. If that’s how Drew apologizes I hope he screws up way more often.

Dinner with a Hero – Hank Edwards

Oct 14, 2011 Filed under: book recommendation, excerpts, historical, m/m, paranormal, vampire

Today I’m thrilled to welcome, Hank Edwards, one of my favorite writers. He’s here to share good food and an excerpt from his spooky, sexy, Western adventure, Bounty.

Hi Silvia, thanks so much for inviting me to share a recipe and a bit of story. My partner is the chef in our house, but I love sampling his recipes. He’s adventurous and not afraid to try different ingredients together, whereas I pretty much stick to a written recipe. Even though he’s the cook, I still have a few recipes I haul out and throw together for us, and since it’s October and, like in my Old West vampire/zombie mash up novel “Bounty,” it’s starting to get cooler, this seems like the perfect time for comfort food. To hell with the calories, it’s winter, we need to insulate! (I completely agree! – Silvia)

I’ve selected a recipe for Beef Chow Mein. My mother made this for us kids a lot growing up, it was a filling meal and made a pound of ground beef go a long way. It’s one of my go-to dishes for cold days or those times you just want to sit and digest afterwards. I actually made this recipe for my partner’s wacky cooking show, “Dish and a Drink,” and you can see that episode on here.

This dish is really good fresh out of the oven, but even better warmed up the next day. And, since it’s a Chinese Chow Mein dish, I’ll include an excerpt from my book with Ling Chen, a Chinese frontier girl who has a small but pivotal role in “Bounty,” book one of my Venom Valley Series. Thanks for stopping by, and happy eating!

Beef Chow Mein Dish

Ingredients

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup diced celery

1 ½ pounds ground beef

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 cup cooked rice

1/8 cup soy sauce

1 small can mushrooms

1 can bean sprouts

1 can sliced water chestnuts

1 can chow mein noodles

1. Brown beef, onion, celery in a skillet. Drain.

2. Add remaining ingredients except chow mein noodles. Mix well.

3. Fold into a 9 x 13 dish.

4. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

5. Top with chow mein noodles.

6. Bake 5 minutes longer.

7. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Bounty by Hank Edwards

Amazon, ARe

Blurb:

Josh Stanton discovers he can raise the dead after his adoptive mother returns and tries to kill him. With a bounty on his head for her murder, Josh flees into the arid plains of Venom Valley, pursued by his best friend and deputy, Dex, and the two finally surrender to the love that’s grown between them. Back in town, a powerful vampire stalks the girls working at the saloon, and Glory, a half white, half Indian saloon girl, depends on her Native American protective spirit to keep her safe as she fights to save her best friend, Edith.

Excerpt:

A sound outside the window brought him back, and Josh jerked his head up. The pale shape of a face hovered behind the glass, almond eyes wide and mouth round with shock. It was Ling Chen, the young Oriental girl Agnes had been instructing in English.

Ling’s eyes shifted between Agnes’s body and Josh’s face.

Josh looked at Agnes, the rifle in his hand, and then back to Ling. In a moment of horrifying clarity, he understood how it must look.

“Ling,” Josh croaked and rose to his feet, looking at the window again.

Ling was gone. Josh stumbled to the door, stepping out into the wind-driven night and squinting against the onslaught of sand. All he saw was the rear end of a horse galloping down the road, Ling hunched low in the saddle, snapping the reins hard as she rushed toward town and the sheriff’s office.

“No, no, no, no,” Josh moaned. He spun in place a moment, looking between the fleeing girl and the inside of the house. What could he do? Ling had seen him by the body, possibly seen him shoot Agnes. Even if he could bury Agnes’s body, there would be questions and accusations, especially because of who he was. He would be thrown in jail, and at some point someone would miss Wayland Overbrooke and ride out to his farm and find him dead in the barn.

“Fuck!” he shouted into the furious wind of the night.

He hurried into the house and slammed the door, leaning back against it as he swept his gaze around the small rooms. He had been raised in this house, had spent hours by the fire with Agnes. How could he leave her like this, with no explanation, no respects paid?

But who would believe him?

Dex, maybe. But Dex was just a deputy. The rest of the town would believe what they wanted, even from a Chinese girl. They had made up their minds about him years ago. He had to run.

Keeping his gaze averted from Agnes’s body, Josh moved through the house. He grabbed clothes, some dried meat, and bread. Crouching before the bookcase, he selected a few favorite books and stuffed them in his pack. Agnes had not only encouraged his reading, she had insisted that he devote time each day to it. He would not let her down now.

Picking up his hat, Josh turned to throw a final look at the body consumed by shadows.

“Rest in peace, Agnes,” he whispered, his voice breaking on her name. “I will always be grateful for you.”

He left the house and pulled the door closed behind him. Clementine stamped and snorted as he mounted her. Josh patted the side of her neck and leaned down to whisper in her ear.

“It’s just us now, Clem.”

He sat up and clicked his tongue as he pulled the reins. Clementine turned, and he urged her into a gallop, heading for the Overbrooke farm. He needed to try and find a connection between the farmer and Agnes. Then he planned to travel further outside of town to the house where he had once lived with his mother. It stood, vacant and decaying, on the edge of the brutal stretch of desert land known by those in Belkin’s Pass as Venom Valley. He would be safe there for a day, maybe two. Perhaps something of his mother’s still lay waiting inside the house that might help explain what happened when he got close to the dead.

Guest Blogger: Hank Edwards

Sep 20, 2011 Filed under: guest blogger, m/m, paranormal, vampire

I’m thrilled to have the charming and talented Hank Edwards as my guest today. Hank, tell us about your awesome new release.
My latest release is “Bounty,” the first book of my Venom Valley Series. It’s a self published book in which I combine a number of different genres: paranormal, Old West, m/m romance, and a little m/f.

I fell in love with this story and couldn’t put it down!

What is your favorite genre to write? What other genres do you enjoy?
I really seem to gravitate toward contemporary romantic comedy. And even when I write outside that genre, I have to add a bit of sass from one or more character. I do enjoy all genres, but have to say that comedy and suspense / thriller are my favorites. Crazy, isn’t it?

Do you have a favorite character from one of your books?
You know, I do. In my Charlie Heggensford series of books, I introduced a woman at the end of book one, Fluffers, Inc., named Bernice Tallipepper. She is a divorced mother of 4 adult age children who moved to LA from Minnesota and started working the front desk at Fluffers, Inc. She’s been really fun to write, and I hope to get back to that series some time in the near future and bring Bernice back into an adventure. I love Bernice 🙂

Is there a style or genre of writing that you haven’t tired yet but you’d like to explore?
With Bounty I’m kind of hitting a number of genres at once: western, horror, suspense, so I think I’m pretty much covered.

How do you make time in your life for writing?
It’s really the biggest challenge. I work full time and watch more TV than I should, but I seem to find time right after dinner and in the mornings on the weekends. Some weekends I get lucky and I can write the whole day. Now that I’m part of the Story Orgy group, five writers who post free m/m reads on our blogs every Monday morning, I have to get at least 1,500 words done a week. Sometimes that takes time away from my book writing, but I’ve found it’s good practice, and I’ve developed some great stories from that writing, like “Wicked Reflection,” which turned into a novella and is part of the upcoming Story Orgy anthology which is due to be released from Breathless Press the end of this year.

What do you like to read? Do you have some favorite authors?
I read Stephen King, Janet Evanovich, James Rollins, Sue Grafton, Josh Lanyon, Lee Brazil, Em Woods, Silvia Violet (of course!), and a slew of others. I like to bounce back and forth between m/m romance and suspense thrillers or mysteries.

If you decide to take a Saturday off, what are we likely to find you doing?
Oh wow. Hanging out with my partner of going on 16 years, maybe working in the yard a bit, or reading, or watching movies, or taking a day trip somewhere. He is very good at getting me back into the real world with the three dimensional people.

Choose six adjectives to describe yourself.
Determined, anxious, friendly, curious, wishful, hopeful

Describe the perfect meal.
I love Italian food, so I’m going to have to say something with pasta and a red sauce, probably some meatballs (though not on Mondays, we try to do meatless Mondays and eat vegetarian that one day a week), a bottle of smooth red wine, preferably a pinot noir, some warm, fresh bread, and something rich and delicious for dessert. Good God, I just made myself really hungry. Ha! *sigh* I love Italian food.

If you were a dessert what would you be and why?
Sigh … a French silk pie. I love that pie. Mmmmm! Sounds delicious 🙂

Thank you for being here today, Hank!

An Excerpt from Bounty:

Josh could see the firelight reflected in Dex’s eyes and he reached out to squeeze his hand. A comfortable silence slid around them, filled with years of memories and trust.

“I’m sorry, Dex. I know this is tough for you, too. We’ll get through it together, just like we used to get in trouble growing up, right?”

Dex gave a dry chuckle and turned back. They looked at each other a long moment, the fire popping and crackling beside them. An excited flutter started in Josh’s stomach as the expression on Dex’s face changed, became more intense, charged with a sudden and dangerous attraction. With a stubborn will of its own, Josh’s cock bloomed into life, hard in moments and confined painfully inside his pants.

“Josh…”

Josh’s breath was locked in his chest. “Yes?”

Dex half stood out of the chair and leaned over the table, now so close Josh could feel his breath on his cheek. Josh’s cock throbbed as he stared into Dex’s eyes and fought down the panic building inside him.

What were they doing? This was Dex, his best friend and a sheriff’s deputy, and Josh was an outlaw. If Sheriff Haden discovered Dex had found Josh and not taken him into custody, Dex could be hung alongside Josh as a traitor. And, foregoing all of that, what would it do to their friendship?

Without another word, Dex moved closer and kissed him. It was a light kiss, questioning, just a brush of Dex’s lips against his own. But the feel of a man’s mouth against his, the scratch of whiskers, the realization that it was Dex who kissed him — handsome, loyal, and caring Dex — made Josh’s head spin.

The kiss lasted just a moment, but when Dex leaned back they smiled at each other.

“I’ve wanted you to do that for years,” Josh said.

Dex laughed and a blush rose in his cheeks. He looked away into the fire, and then back again, his grin showing off his dimples. “I’ve wanted you to do that for years.”

Josh smiled and leaned in for another kiss. This time there was no hesitation, no question if the kiss would be returned. They kissed for several minutes, mouths parting to admit the other’s questing tongue. Josh’s awareness narrowed to Dex’s mouth: the heat and force of his tongue, the feel of Dex’s teeth beneath his own tongue.

A sharp pop from the fire startled them both, and they broke apart, staring at each other.

“This is dangerous, Dex,” Josh said, “we shouldn’t do this.” The words sounded like a lie, even to his own ears. His cock pulsed within his trousers, aching to be free. He could feel that it already leaked, weeping for release with Dex.

“I’ve wanted to be with you for too long to care about that now.” Dex’s voice was low and spiked with lust, the timber of his words like a fist that wrapped around Josh’s cock and squeezed.

Dex moved fast, standing and pulling him out of his chair, crushing his mouth over Josh’s. Dex’s tongue lunged past Josh’s lips and filled his mouth, commanding and insistent. Dex’s large, rough hands pulled Josh against him and the heat of Dex’s body soaked into him, sinking in right to his bones, making him feel safe and loved.

They stretched out on the floor in front of the fire, Dex sprawled on top, his cock like a fence post pressed against Josh’s thigh. The kiss that had started frantic slowed and deepened. Dex’s fingers eased open the buttons of Josh’s shirt as they kissed and when it lay open, Dex pulled the bottom of his linen under shirt out of his pants. Sliding a hand beneath the soft fabric, Dex’s fingers finally touched Josh’s bare skin. Josh shivered at Dex’s touch and pulled back to gasp.

Dex slid off Josh and furrowed his brow as he looked down at him. “You all right?”

Josh felt himself blush and nodded as he smiled. “I’m all right. I just … I’ve never been touched that way before. It caught me by surprise is all.”

Dex smiled and leaned down to kiss him again. “Me neither,” he whispered.

Blood for Breakfast
by Divine Thunder

Hey There,
My name is Divine Thunder, or as my husband calls me, Div. I used to go by Jimmy Thunder, until I met Temeura…who was Angelis when I met him. Have I confused you yet? Well, let me explain. I’m a vampire and I live in Waikiki.

Being pretty well endowed, I noticed a guy at the gym down here on Kalakaua Avenue checking me out. I was kinda between girlfriends…well, I had two, actually but one was sweet and the other one was a total bitch. You can probably guess the bitchy one was damned hot in the sack and Clancy, the sweet one was well, sweet, but something was missing. I’d never met a woman who could be both sweet and hot…and then this guy at the gym approached me.

His name was Angelis and he was a good-looking Hawaiian-Asian guy. I’d heard rumors he was a gay porn star and he asked if I’d like to shoot some gay porn. I can’t explain it but I took one look at his massive cock and I kinda liked the idea of fooling around with him. The work was at night and I don’t know…I’d never thought about being with a guy but he was handsome and seemed to want to work with me.
It was the best sex of my life.

We fell in love. I have never met anyone like Tem and yeah, he’s mine. So no more porn for either of us. He is now my vampire lover and husband in every way and it might surprise you to learn that we eat. Yes. Waikiki Vampires enjoy their food. I can tolerate sun up to a point but my favorite dinner with Tem – unless he’s cooking – is to go to Duke’s at the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki.

I think we are the only couple in the whole, wide world who don’t request beach tables. Tem, being a fairly new vampire is still very sensitive to sunlight.

We get nice and toasty on a couple of mai tais, my favorite island drink and we love the crab macadamia wantons. After a couple of mai tais, my husband likes to “have a party in my pants” which can get embarrassing so we sometimes get a room upstairs. We get dessert of hula pie to go. By the way, we both love blood for breakfast. We drink from each other. It’s a crazy-good high.

Tem and I share our wonderful, sprawling ranch-style home on top of Tantalus, mountain on top of Waikiki. We live with my sister, Heavenly, and her wife, Clancy. Yep, I hooked up my ex girlfriend with my sister. I told you, Clancy is sweet. I am legally married to her, but that was for immigration purposes since she is Australian and needed residency.

Clancy and Tem are the best things that ever happened to me and Heavenly. We were the two loneliest souls before we met them. For two hundred  years, we just existed. Cursed by a bad kahuna because of my grandfather’s gambling debts, we became vampires, doomed to live alone. Now, we have love, sex and unbelievably great food. I have a fantastic family. Tem and I are proud parents of the bossiest cat in the world, Midnight, and we have a nephew who is a storm demon. But that’s another story.

Tem and Clancy are great friends and cook together. I’ve never heard them argue, except over the subject of Vegemite. Clancy, being Australian, thinks it’s the best thing since sliced cheese. The rest of us tolerate it. Actually, I’ll be honest, I’ve come to crave a slice of hot-buttered toast smeared with vegemite.
If you were to come to the Thunder residence, you will find a house filled with Hawaiian antiques and fresh flowers Heavenly cuts from our garden. You would have your choice of cocktails. Actually, you won’t. My husband makes the best bloody mary’s ever.

We have a cellar full of gourmet wine that was once ransacked by French-Vietnamese eunuchs, but that’s another story, too. So, you’d get great wine and if you and your partner decide to have a party in each other’s pants, that’s just too bad because Tem is the hostess with the mostest.

For an appetizer he would present you with sake and ginger-poached shrimp cocktail. It’s not your mom’s shrimp cocktail. This one comes with Asian sesame remoulade. If you want to make my husband unhappy, ask him for the traditional red dipping sauce.

For your main course, you would have your choice of sea-salt crusted prime rib or fresh ahi seared with ginger and shallots. You can have a little of both, if you like. Or a lot. Ahi is Hawaiian tuna and Tem and Clancy buy it every day from a little old man who catches it himself. He brings it to our door. All our meals come with salad and vegetables pulled from our garden.

By the time we’ve refilled your wine glass several times, you will definitely want to have a party in your husband’s pants. We’re well prepared for this. We have plenty of guest rooms…and we’ll give you a big hunk of hula pie to share in bed.

It’s yummy. Almost as good as blood for breakfast.

Aloha oe (love forever),
Div xoxo

I’m ecstatic about these great reviews for Sex on the Hoof!

5 Stars from The Romance Reviews: “I loved Jason Fleetfoot and Drew Danvers together and separately. They were hot, exciting and I really cared about where their relationship was going. With this being a short read, the plot was well developed and their relationship did not seemed forced as the author had them having known one another and also very aware of each other.”

5 Kisses from Top 2 Bottom Reivews: “A Vampire and a Deer Shifter. How can you not want to read this? I love my vamps, so any chance I have to read about them I do, but I have never heard or read about a Deer Shifter!”

4 Cherries from Whipped Cream Reviews: “Protect and Serve: Sex on the Hoof is a delightful and cheeky romance between to unlikely men who end up happier than they thought possible. There was fun exploration and heartfelt skin on skin to appeal to erotic readers.”
